Original Runelite developer Adam1210 shared his thoughts on Reddit in which he said that allowing Runelite HD to continue will be a huge benefit in the future for updates to be made by Jagex.
"I am also adamantly against including it in the "third rules of third parties," Adam1210 said. "Most of those guidelines are trying to determine where the line between quality of life] and cheating is - and I think most players agree that the current guidelines are a good description of that. it can help keep the game integrity.
However , there's no unfair advantage in a better-looking image, and it only affects the user when it is enabled. This is just a misuse of the guidelines. This is, in the end, an unfortunate situation for all parties and I hope Jagex would take a look at it."
